  • Sep 29, 2023 - MBN Research Launch

    We are delighted and very proud to welcome everyone to the launch of not one, but TWO ground breaking Bi+ documents, made possible with funding from the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing. Bi The Way is a set of Bi+ research guidelines, created by Bi+ researchers and community with support from research staff at the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society (ARCSHS) at La Trobe University. Intimate Partner Violence: Bi+ Inclusive Practice Report was developed through a series of lived experience interviews, and workshops with Safe and Equal, and Berry Street Service. This is the first report of its kind, focusing on the experiences of Bi+ women victim-survivors of domestic and family violence. Duc Dau is a researcher in the process of completing a long overdue academic book on the Bible book, Song of Songs, passages from which are often read at weddings. Tonight includes: The erotic through history, terms for sexuality being recent inventions, bisexuality behaviour having been around for centuries, and is sexuality important in film or is it more the acts that they engage in.

Today, the conversion considers sexuality as who you are attracted to, and by how much, and who you are not attracted to. As a Bisexual you are attracted to more than one gender, but is that all genders, some genders, specific genders, while other sexualities may require a more detailed explanation.

    Today, they discuss the complex topic of reconnecting with community after multiple, lengthy, lockdowns. Melbournians have endured longer than many, and repeated, periods of time where personal supportive interactions offered by others in physical social environments, including friends, family and new acquaintances, were just not permitted, while alternative online environments did not suit everyone.

    Anthony Lekkas and Ruby Mountford introduce the Melbourne Bisexual Network, a network of professionals who will take the outcomes of the largest bisexual mental health study in Australia, seriously. The study, into the mental health of people who are attracted to more than one gender, is by lead investigator Julia Taylor, from La Trobe’s Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society (ARCSHS).
